Journaling Prompts That Can Make This New Year Your Biggest Breakthrough

Last week I shared with you some of the journaling prompt reflection questions for the past year, to look back and learn from what went by. And today, I want to share some journaling prompts on how you can make this new year your biggest breakthrough.

Journaling helps in organizing thoughts, setting goals, and allows you to self-reflect. And doing this in the beginning of the year will motivate you to stay on track and fulfill those written in your journal.

In this episode, I would like to share with you some of the questions that can help prepare and set you to have a breakthrough in your life. To make you the best version of yourself in the coming year.

If You Are To Be Granted Unlimited Wishes, What Would You Ask For?

Write down everything that you wish for. Things you want to achieve and looking forward to doing. This will give you a clear picture of your goals, from there you can create steps towards achieving your goals.

Write Down Exactly What You Want

Ask yourself the question, what exactly do you want? It might seem easy, but when you have your pen on the paper, it feels like you don’t know what to write, but you do know, you just have to dig deep within to find the answer. And if you have trouble figuring out what you want, write down what you don’t want, flip that and discover the opposite which is possibly what you want.

What Is Your Purpose?

If you have trouble knowing your purpose in life, there is a book called Ikigai. It is a Japanese concept that combines the terms iki, meaning “alive” or “life,” and gai, meaning “benefit” or “worth.” When combined, these terms mean that which gives your life worth, meaning, or purpose. An amazing read with amazing exercises you can go through. Also, you can look up Jay Shetty on Youtube and find the video where he talks about purpose in life.

What Will You Gain When You Reach Your Goals?

In reaching your goals, you need to create SMART goals. It stands for Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relatable and Time Bound. These five steps create a reachable and realistic goal. Goals that can bring you satisfaction.

What Will You Lose If You Don’t Take Action?

We often get carried away in looking for benefits that we forget to look on the other side of what we are going to lose. If we don’t take action, our goals won’t become a reality. When you know what you’re losing, that becomes your drive to take action. Take the small steps, and before you know it you’re already near your goal.

Where Are You In Relation To Your Goals Right Now?

Knowing where you are now can lead to effectively planning for your future. It’s about knowing the difference and then identifying the steps you need to take to reach your goals. Figuring out what you need to do differently this year, in order to see the results that you desire.

Who Do You Need To Be To Accomplish Your Goals This Year?

To reach your goals, you need to go backwards. You need to do all the small steps to reach your ultimate goal. Focus on all the areas you need to learn, know everything about it, even the minute tasks. These are all needed to accomplish your goals.

What Do You Know You Have Inside Of You?

Is that a drive? Resourcefulness, creativity, or commitment. What do you already have inside of you to achieve your goals this year? It's important to also focus on you know, not just focusing on what we lack, or what we don't have, focus on what you already have, so that you can double down on your strengths.

Do You Know Anyone That Has Achieved The Life You Dream Of?

Have role models that you look up to. Know their characteristics that helped them achieve the success that they have.  Look into their values and closely observe them. Know them through books, podcasts, and other resources. If you immerse yourself in following the footsteps of your role models, you can also achieve success in life.

How Will you Hold Yourself Accountable For Your Goals?

It's important for us to know what we want. It's important for us to know what we need to do. What actions do we need to take, but at the same time, how are you going to hold yourself accountable for your goals? You really need to work on finding out because this will lead to your dreams coming true.

Welcome The Year Ahead…

2022 is all about new beginnings. It’s about setting new goals. And to achieve your goals you need to have some practices that can help you, one way to do that is through journaling. Writing your dreams and goals will help you visualize what you want to achieve. Write a letter to yourself and manifest that.
