Planting Seeds Through Conscious Parenting

I believe life is a process. It’s all about the evolution of consciousness. If you look at the way the universe created this world, it's always about the seed, a plant, a flower, and a fruit. Then, it goes back to the seed.

Similarly, we're all on a journey of greater consciousness, becoming more compassionate, and more loving. Through planting the seeds. It’s also like taking small steps leading to a bigger goal. Taking one significant life transforming step at a time.

In this episode, I would like to share with you the relationship of planting seeds and taking one step at a time to conscious parenting. To be conscious role models to our children.

Affirmations

When I say planting seeds, I mean being a role model on how we want our kids to be. We can’t force them or make the choice for them, but we can be a role model.

And how can I do that? by planting seeds, through affirmations. For me, we start our mornings with affirmations such as I am kind, I am brave, I am strong. Language is very important. It sets a positive vibe for the day.

According to Science, what we teach or how we interact with our kids is going to program their subconscious mind, and that’s how they’re going to write their own stories.

Meditation

We also practice meditation. When my child is having some bad days or difficult behaviors, we do breathing exercises. Doing this ritual is a means of planting the seed. When they become adults, they’ll be able to carry this practice and it can help them face the challenges of adulthood.

Forming Small Habits

In our home, we practice an Ayurvedic lifestyle. And one ritual we do is the scraping of the tongue. This is so important in health, it removes the toxins in our body. My children have learned this at a very young age, and don’t have to remind them or dictate them to do this, a perfect example  of planting seeds. They became independent, but they also knew how to ask for help if needed.

Oil massages is another part of their morning routine. It’s another habit that I believe will help them live a healthy life until they grow up.

The Bigger Picture

When you think about it, these are all small actions or seeds we can do everyday. But these will all lead to a bigger purpose, to see our kids grow up the way we want them to be. We need to live in the moment, to be conscious of how we raise our children, because what we plant today will determine the fruit of tomorrow.

Plant seeds that will make them better individuals someday. Seeds of love, compassion, responsibility, and other values that can hone them into how we want the future of humanity will be.

The future is in our hands. We just need to take it one step at a time, plant the seeds, and be conscious parents as we lead them to the right direction.
